PORTUGAL Liga 2
The Liga Portugal 2, also known as the Segunda Liga, is the second-highest professional football league in Portugal. It is organized by the Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional (LPFP).
The Liga 2 serves as a stepping stone for teams looking to reach the Primeira Liga, the top division in Portuguese football.
The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion and is automatically promoted to the Primeira Liga. The next four teams enter a playoff to determine the second promotion place.
The bottom two teams are relegated to the third division, the Campeonato de Portugal, while the top two teams from the Campeonato de Portugal are promoted to the LigaPro.
Some of the most successful clubs in the Liga 2 include Braga, Marítimo, and Portimonense, who have all won the title multiple times.
The Liga 2 is known for its competitive level of play and has produced many talented players who have gone on to successful careers at top clubs, including Bruno Alves, Nélson Oliveira, and Rúben Neves.
