NETHERLANDS Eredivisie
The Eredivisie, also known as the Dutch Premier League, is the top professional football league in the Netherlands. It is organized by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) and features 18 teams who play each other twice in a home-and-away format, for a total of 34 matches per season.
The Eredivisie was founded in 1956 and is one of the most popular and successful football leagues in Europe.
The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion and qualifies for the UEFA Champions League. The second and third-placed teams qualify for the UEFA Europa League. The bottom team is relegated to the second division, the Eerste Divisie, while the top team from the Eerste Divisie is promoted to the Eredivisie.
Some of the most successful clubs in the Eredivisie include Ajax Amsterdam and PSV Eindhoven, who have won multiple titles.
The Eredivisie is known for its passionate fans and intense rivalries, particularly the De Klassieker between Ajax and PSV Eindhoven.
