ENGLAND Championship
The EFL Championship, also known as the English Football League Championship, is the second-highest professional football league in England. It is organized by the English Football League (EFL) and features 24 teams who play each other twice in a home-and-away format, for a total of 46 matches per season.
The league was founded in 2004, following the rebranding of the Football League First Division. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion and is automatically promoted to the Premier League. The next four teams enter a playoff to determine the second promotion place.The bottom three teams are relegated to the third division, League One, while the top two teams from League One are promoted to the Championship.
Some of the most successful clubs in the EFL Championship include Leeds United, Aston Villa, Ipswich Town and Newcastle United.
The EFL Championship is known for its high level of competition and has produced many talented players who have gone on to successful careers at top clubs, including Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy, and Mohamed Salah.
